GIRLS CLUB TRYOUTS 15U-18U: July 26-27, 2025
- 15U: 12:00-2:00pm
- 16U: 2:30-4:30pm
- 17U & 18U: 9:00-11:00am
- Times are the same for BOTH days; attend both days (Saturday July 26 AND Sunday July 27th)
- Location for TRYOUTS: Mission Bay High School gym
- check the birthdate cut-off for your age group
- you may be considered in multiple age groups with prior permission
Club Tryouts for high school-age players take place in late July, PRIOR to your high school team season. If you miss Club Tryouts, then later (during your high school season) if you want to try out for club volleyball, you’ll run the risk of there not being room on a good-fit club team at a later date (in Nov/Dec).

Tryouts Fee: A $45 Tryouts Fee is necessary to help cover the expenses of tryouts: extra coaches, planning, organization, gym time, etc… We NEVER charge extra for registering LATE, it will always be only $45.
Age divisions: The USA Volleyball birthdate cutoff is July 1st, so if you were born in July or August, double-check your age division for this season! Find your age division.
- 15U: typically players in 9th grade
- 16U: typically players in 10th grade
- 17U: typically players in 11th grade
- 18U: typically players in 12th grade
- (players must also abide by strict birthdate guidelines for an SCVA travel team)

Parent Information ZOOM “Meeting” – Friday 7/25 at 5:00pm. Everyone who is registered for Tryouts by 2:00pm on Friday 7/26 will receive an email with the link to the Zoom call by 4:30pm (you may share this link with others who may want to try out as well).
Season Dates & Details for 15U-18U teams: Tryouts are held in late July and teams are formed. Then, players go to their high schools for their school season in August-early November. Then the club teams will begin practices in late November (after the conclusion of high school season) and tournaments take place December-June. Team schedules and prices vary by age and skill; TBD.
Season Fees: Season Fees typically range between $3800-$5100 for an SCVA team, depending on age, number/type of tournaments, etc. Your fees will cover practice costs including gym rental, coaches’ wages, equipment, insurance, and uniform package. If we field “local” HS-age teams (non-SCVA/travel tournaments), those team fees will be closer to $2800/season, to play in San Diego County at local tournaments.
Cancellation: If tournaments are scheduled, entered, and then canceled, your tournament fees will be refunded. If all club operations are shut down, then we will issue a prorated refund for gym/coaching costs for future/canceled practices, once it is determined that there is no possibility of making those up. Some club expenses are recurring and non-refundable so it will not be a full refund. No refunds or prorating for players missing tournaments, practices, events, or deciding not to continue with their team obligation.
Returning LJV players: If you are a returning LJV player and you will be out of town for tryouts weekend, you must still be registered online PRIOR to tryouts AND let us know via email in order to be considered for team placement. (If you are not on our list during tryouts weekend, then we wil not consider you for team placement!).
