- 11U/12U: 11:00-1:00pm both days at Mission Bay HS
- 13U/14U: 2:00-4:00pm both days at Mission Bay HS

General age guidelines for non-travel (local) teams
- 4th-6th graders = 12U (no 7th graders allowed in 12U local, regardless of birthdate)
- 7th graders = 13U
- 8th graders = 14U (no 9th graders allowed in “8th grade and younger” division, regardless of birthdate)
Our top 14U team (and possibly our top 13U team) will be a travel team, participating in tournaments in Orange County. All other teams 14U and younger will play in local tournaments in San Diego County (Volley-Fest series in Rancho Bernardo at SDVBC).
We plan to field multiple teams in the 14U, 13U, and 12U age divisions. Coaching assignments will be announced during tryouts.
12U is for 6th grade and younger. 12U will practice and compete using VolleyLite balls and the lower net, with Coach Nicole Blackwell.
Age divisions: The USA Volleyball birthdate cutoff is July 1st (only for SCVA travel teams), so if you were born in July or August, double-check your age division for this season! Find your age division (if you will be playing on a Local team, only your GRADE in school matters; even if you are a young 9th grader, you may not play in 14U for Local tournaments).
Missing Tryouts? If you cannot attend either day of tryouts, but still wish to be considered for team placement, you must be pre-registered for Tryouts in our system, so that we have your name on our lists during tryouts. If we are familiar with your daughter, we will be able to consider placing her on a team. If we do not know your daughter and have not seen her play, then we will not be able to place her on a team until she has been evaluated, and we do strive to fill our team rosters during tryouts weekend.
Tryouts Fee: A $45 Tryouts Fee is necessary to help cover the expenses of tryouts: extra coaches, planning, organization, gym time, etc… At LJV, we do NOT charge late fees for registering for tryouts late, nor do we cut off our tryouts registrations
LOCATIONS for October Tryouts and Sunday practices: Mission Bay HS (TRYOUTS and all Sunday practices).

Season Dates & Details for 10U-14U teams: Tryouts and forming teams in the Fall, beginning practices in Oct/Nov, then tournaments December-May/June, depending on your team.
Practices/Schedule: Each LJV team will have a regular weekday practice (Tues, Wed, Thurs, or Fri) at HTH-Mesa and a Sunday afternoon/evening practice at Mission Bay High School gym. 13/14U Travel teams may get an occasional additional Monday practice.
Season Fees: Season Fees will cover practice costs including gym rental, coaches wages/travel, tournament entry fees, equipment, coach training/certification/background checks, uniforms, insurance and an LJV practice shirt. Local team fees (12U, 13U, 14U) will be $3100-$3500, and travel team will be approx $4800, depending on travel tournaments. No refunds will be given once you’ve paid your deposit and committed for the season. Our club expenses remain the same, even if a player chooses not to continue during the season so we cannot offer refunds or cancel your payment plan. Payment plans are a courtesy to help spread out the fees, not reflective of actual month-by-month costs. We appreciate your understanding.
More specific season/team pricing will be available at tryouts.
An initial deposit of $850 for local and travel teams will be due (online) upon team commitment.
Cancellation: If a tournament is scheduled, entered, then canceled, your tournament fees will be refunded. If all club operations are shut down, then we will issue a prorated refund for gym/coaching costs for future/canceled practices, once it is determined that there is no possibility of making those up. Some club expenses are recurring and non-refundable so it will not be a full refund.
