We welcome to Brittany to our LJV coaching staff!
Brittany (Rainbird) Johnson was born in California, then mostly grew up in Houston, Texas. She played volleyball for UT Austin, earning her BS in International Business from McCombs School of Business in 2005. Brittany taught Special Ed in Brooklyn, NY, for Teach for America and coached club volleyball while living in NY. She earned a Masters of Social Work from UT Austin in 2009, and moved to San Diego in 2010, where she renewed her love of beach volleyball. She has headed the girls beach volleyball program for Mission Bay High School since 2014, and is returning as the freshman coach (on and off since 2012) this Fall 2021. In her spare time, she cares for her beautiful eight year old daughter, Arya, and teaches yoga to friends/family.
