We are excited to welcome Ivey Schmitt to our coaching staff!


Ivey has helped with numerous La Jolla Volleyball club camps and clinics over the past few years, and now, as a UCLA graduate, we are thrilled to have her coaching a team!


Schmitt was a two-sport student-athlete at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, Calif. … a four-time letterwinner in volleyball, played one season of sand volleyball at CCHS … won two CIF, State and Western Volleyball League titles (2011 and 2012) during her prep career as her CCHS teams went undefeated in WVL play in those two championship seasons and were a combined 70-8 overall … named Second Team and later First Team All-City Western Volleyball League … also picked up Honorable Mention All-CIF and First Team All-CIF accolades during her prep career while registering 467 kills, 76 aces, 44 blocks and 421 digs … served as a team captain her senior year for both the indoor and sand team … earned 2014 AVCA High School Sand Honorable Mention All-America honors. Schmitt went on to play beach volleyball for UCLA, competing in the first ever beach volleyball NCAA championships as the 2s seed for UCLA. Schmitt graduated from UCLA in 3 years with a degree in sociology. Schmitt is currently coaching the La Jolla High freshmen volleyball team and has coached for LJV since 2014.
